Applicants must be minority Wisconsin residents who are undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors. Students must be enrolled at least half-time at a University of Wisconsin System institution or a non-profit, independent college or university in the state of Wisconsin and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must be pursuing programs leading to teacher licensure in a discipline identified as a teacher shortage area for the state of Wisconsin. Students who participate in this program must agree to teach full-time in an elementary or secondary school in the city of Milwaukee. For each year the applicants meet all forgiveness criteria requirements, 25% of the loan is forgiven.
