Accounting Scholarships
If you love math and business, chances are you’ve thought about all the possible finance careers you can have—including accounting. There are many scholarships available for students majoring in accounting, including those for minority students and those studying in specific states. Check out some of the scholarships for accounting majors below:
1. NSA (National Society of Accountants) Scholarship Foundation
Award: Varies
Available to part-time and full-time undergraduates who are majoring in accounting. Eligible applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. and be enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college or university in the U.S.
2. Dixon Hughes Goodman Scholarship
Award: Two scholarships of $2,250 each
Available to college juniors, seniors, fifth-year undergraduate students, and graduate students who intend to take the CPA exam. Must have an overall and accounting GPA of at least 3.3.
3. AICPA Scholarship Award for Minority Accounting Students
Award: $3,000-$5,000
Available to ethnic minority students who are pursuing a degree in accounting or an accounting-related major with a minimum overall and major GPA of 3.0. Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates financial need.
4. Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance Undergraduate Scholarship, Master’s Scholarship, and Diversity Undergraduate Scholarship
Award: Varies
The Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance has three categories for accounting scholarships: undergraduate, master’s, and diversity undergraduate. Each category is available to women in their third, fourth, or fifth year, majoring in accounting or finance, who have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.0.
5. Fifth Year Accounting Student Scholarship Program
Award: Up to $5,000
Available to Texas residents enrolled at a participating college or university. Must plan to take the CPA exam in Texas and demonstrate financial need.
6. The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting Scholarships
Award: $1,000-$5,000
Available to women majoring in accounting who demonstrate financial need. There are many scholarships available for undergraduate students, graduate students, and postgraduate students, and you can apply for more than one.
7. CVS Pharmacy, INC: Business Scholarships
Award: Up to $5,000
Available to students pursuing an undergraduate degree (or planning a graduate/professional degree) in business—including accounting—at an accredited four-year university or master’s-level program with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
8. Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges (TACTYC) Transfer Accounting Student Scholarship
Award: Multiple awards of $1,000
This scholarship has two categories: students currently attending a two-year college with plans to pursue an associate degree in accounting, and students currently attending a two-year college with plans to transfer to a four-year institution into a bachelor’s degree program in accounting. Both require a minimum GPA of 3.0 and the completion of at least 20 college semester credit hours, six of which must be in accounting.
9. Fukunaga Foundation Scholarship
Award: $20,000 over four years
Available to Hawaii high school graduates and current college students with a 3.0 GPA who are interested in pursuing a career in business within the Pacific Islands region. Eligible applicants must have graduated (or be on track to graduate) from a high school in Hawaii.
10. Foundation for Accounting Education Presents Excellence in Accounting Scholarship (NYSSCPA)
Award: Up to $2,500 (can be renewable)
Available to declared accounting majors at any New York state college or university. The student must be a New York State resident and U.S. citizen, have completed a minimum of 72 hours with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and have filed a FAFSA and been approved for financial aid.
