What Your Favorite Hairstyle Says About Your Personality

What Your Favorite Hairstyle Says About Your Personality

Short Hair

You’re low maintenance and don’t have time to constantly be doing your hair. Having it short gives you time to focus on other things, while minimizing the effort it takes to look great.

Long Hair

You’ve either got the time to constantly take care of your hair, or you love your hair naturally. For those of us that don’t like our natural hair, having long, luscious locks is hard to achieve. So, you must have quite a lot of time and dedication to be able to have this as your favorite hairstyle. Or, if you love your hair naturally, then you’ve got the freedom to have long hair without the effort.

Curly Hair

For those of us that don’t have naturally curly hair, this style means that you love the volume and bounce of the curls. You have the dedication to stand (or sit) and curl your hair at the risk of burning your fingers.

Straight Hair

If your hair is naturally straight, this hairstyle says that you prefer simplicity. If your hair is naturally curly, you probably straighten your hair because you love the sleek look of straight locks, and it’s worth the time spent with the round-brush and straightening iron.

Ponytail or Pigtails

The simplest of all the hairstyles. It’s quick, easy, and manageable. A ponytail says you’re serious and mean business, and nothing – including your hair - is going to get in your way. If you’re feeling a little more relaxed, pigtails are the alternative. They give you a more innocent and childlike look, while still being manageable and out of your way.

It doesn’t matter what your hair looks like naturally, braids will always add a bit of flair to your look. Simple braids are easy to learn for most people, and show that you’ve got the dexterity to grab certain strands of hair and weave it the correct way around other strands of hair. While that sounds easy , busting out fancy braids on your own hair takes some serious skill. Not to mention the physical strength it takes to hold your arms in the air while you braid. Respect.

Messy Bun

You’re either lazy or spend a lot of time perfecting the lazy-chic look. Contrary to the ponytail, this hairstyle shows that you are more relaxed and laid-back about the day.

Half Up, Half Down

Personally, I find that this hairstyle is best for the days when you can’t quite decide what hairstyle you want. You don’t want it fully up, because you might not be doing anything that needs serious concentration. But you don’t want it getting into your face all day either. This hairstyle is perfect for those of us who love the in-between. You’re ready for anything…except committing to a hair style.

Two Top Buns

This hairstyle can mean one of two things, depending on the way you wear it. If your two top buns don’t form a full bun, and kind of form long pigtails, then it means you watched a lot of Sailor Moon and you love feeling like Princess Serena (or Usagi, depending on which language you watched it in). If your two buns are fully formed, then it means your spiritual animal is a bear and you love to look the part. Bonus points if you also love wearing black and white on the days you wear this favorite hairstyle.

Hair Pulled Back into a Clip

Like the messy bun and the half-up/down look, this hairstyle says you’re feeling a bit lazier, and didn’t feel like putting all that much effort into your look. Plus, since it’s pulled back into the clip, it keeps your hair out of our face. The day probably doesn’t have a lot in store for you, and this hairstyle shows it.

If your go-to hairstyle is simply to rock what you’ve got in its natural form, be it straight, curly, fine or fluffy, then you are probably a super-cool, laid-back chick and we should totally hang out.
