If you’re a self-declared fashionista like me, you probably like to pay attention to fashion trends - what’s in this season? What’s out? The thing about trends is that they tend to fade, and make a reappearance every couple years or so. But there have always been a few pieces that are in style no matter what. Here are five timeless items that should always be in a fellow fashionista’s closet. You can’t go wrong with these items, because they’re always in style. Another great thing about these five essentials, is the fact that every girl can rock them, regardless of size, age, skin color, etc.; we all deserve to be stylish!

1. Nude Pumps

Nude pumps have become a must-have item for just about everybody, because they go well with every color, are relatively affordable, and make your legs look great! The trick is in the color - picking a color that is similar to your own skin tone will give the illusion of a longer, slimmer leg.

2. Little Black Dress

You’ve probably been hearing about this fashion staple since you were just a kid. The little black dress, or LBD, is a favorite of women worldwide because you can never go wrong with this classic. An LBD can come in many styles - cocktail, gown, sweetheart neckline, strapless…the possibilities are practically endless. Black also happens to be one of the most slimming colors, so it’s perfect when we’re having one of those “off” days with our bodies.

3. Fun, Printed Scarf

You know those days when the sky is a little gray, traffic is heavy, everyone seems to be on edge, and lots of other tiny inconveniences are going on? For those crummy days, you need to pull out your brightest, prettiest, most printed scarf. For some reason, this fun accessory always makes me smile, and adds a much-needed pop to my outfits.

4. A Well-Fitting Pair of Dark Jeans

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a pair of dark-washed jeans look bad on anybody. Dark jeans have to be one of the most versatile fashion items, because you can make them daytime appropriate or put together a great outfit for a night out. My favorites are skinnies, but this fashion essential also looks great in a boyfriend fit, straight-leg, or cropped!

5. Plain White Tee

The plain white tee seems like a pretty casual piece at first glance, but it can be made dressy (-ish) underneath a nice cardigan, blazer, or trench coat. A great thing about the white tee is all of the styles that they can come in - v-neck, scoop neck, off-the-shoulder, crewneck - there are so many choices.
