7 Timeless Fashion Trends All Fashionistas Will Always Be Able to Appreciate

7 Trends All Fashionistas Will Always Be Able to Appreciate

Fashion trends come and go, but some styles stay forever. If you’re a self-proclaimed fashionista, you know that there are certain things that never go out of style. If you’ve checked out any fashion blogs, Instagram, or magazines lately, you’ll see that there are hundreds of fashion tips and tricks out there. I’ve narrowed down seven tips that can be applied to every woman - regardless of body type, skin tone, and age - because everyone deserves to look and feel great.

We review and recommend products to help you buy the stuff you need. If you make a purchase by clicking one of our links, we may earn a small share of the revenue. Our picks and opinions are independent from any business incentives.

1. Owning an LBD (or Five)

You’ve probably been hearing this since your high school days. A little black dress is a MUST. Not only is black a color that looks great on everyone, but it’s also versatile and completely timeless. Little black dress styles can be long, short, sexy, demure, sleeved, sleeveless - it doesn’t matter, as long as you feel great in it! Consider getting yourself a nice little LBD so that you won’t have to say “I have nothing to wear” to your next event.

2. Buying Quality Pieces

As a fellow broke college student, I try to refrain from spending too much on clothes. However, I do let myself spend a little more on certain things that can be mixed and matched and will last a long time, like jackets, jeans, and bras. These pieces are essentials to many women’s wardrobes, so it’s alright to spend a little more to get good quality, in my opinion. Remember, good quality = longer-lasting.

3. Eliminating Panty Lines

Panty lines can ruin a cute outfit, so investing in seamless underwear is a must. I mean, just imagine putting on a great new dress, and turning around to see those ugly, thick lines on your bum. Consider keeping seamless bras/bralettes in your wardrobe too; seamless bras are great for those tissue-thin tees and tank tops. And of course, the aforementioned LBD.

4. Popping with Color

Color is a great way to add a fun touch to an otherwise plain outfit. Depending on your personality, feel free to add lots of color by mixing bright pieces, or just a little by incorporating a bold bag or pair of shoes.

5. Rocking Nude Shoes

Nude shoes are magical, because they go with any outfit, look great on any woman, and come in many different shades. As if that wasn’t enough, they also give the illusion of longer legs (which is great for us petite girls!).

6. Mixing Prints

While mixing prints may seem difficult, and maybe even a little crazy, it’s completely do-able. The key to mixing prints is to start small and keep your patterns in the same color scheme. Once you master mixing subtle prints, try bolder combinations to create cool new looks!

7. Wearing Things That Make You Feel Good

Probably the first thing that I notice about fashionable guys and girls is that they are always exuding confidence. If you love what you’re wearing, chances are that you’ll appear confident in yourself. If you’re wearing clothes that are trendy and cool, but just make you feel blah, maybe they’re not for you. Being a fashionista is all about having your own style and owning it, so wear things that you love, regardless of whether they’re “in” or not.
