8 Things to Do if You're Staying Home This Summer
Whatever your reason is for staying home this summer, there are still tons of fun things that you can plan to do. Check out these ideas:
Work Out
Couldn't find time to get that summer body you wanted? Well it's not too late! Now that you have free time, find a workout routine that you like and can stick to it during your summer vacation. With consistency, you'll see results in no time.
Join a Yoga Class
Nothing says summer like relaxation. Think about joining a yoga class to add serenity and a total mind-body workout to your life. Since it’s summer time, you might find a yoga club that has classes outside, which adds a better experience. Not only is yoga good for you, but you can also make some new friends!
Join a Pool Club
Many areas have public pools you can join for the summer with little money down. If you love the water but can't get to the beach, go to the pool! Family sign-ups are also available so you can spend a nice cool day at the pool together and whenever you want!
Practice Photography
If you're into photography and film, or maybe you want to pick it up as a hobby, summer is a great time to get some practice in. Take a drive to the nearest park or even take a walk around the block to find inspiration for your photos. You don't need a fancy camera because just about every smart phone can take beautiful pictures. You just need scenery!
Start a Blog or Vlog
Online vlogs and blogs are definitely in right now. I have friends who can watch YouTubers for hours. If you've ever had a thought to do something like that or create your own blog, now is the time. If you want to vlog, you can take the video right from your phone. With your free time, you can come up with ideas for your blog or vlog and by the end of the summer, you could have a nice following.
Arrange a Backyard Party
Hang lights, order food, get some music, and invite your friends over for a fun night in your backyard. You can play games and of course make s'mores over a fire. For extra fun, check out Pinterest for cool theme ideas and DIY projects you can do.
Camping
For those who love the outdoors, there's nothing more spontaneous than spending the day or night outdoors. Pack a bag, grab snacks, and be one with nature with your family or friends.
Play a Game of Badminton
Badminton is a great game to play as a family or with friends. You can set up a giant volleyball-like net and it comes with rackets to hit what's called a shuttlecock back and forth. It's a super fun game. You can make it challenging but teaming up and keeping score, and then switching teammates to see who you played best with!
