How to Meet New People When You’re out With Friends
Have you ever sat back and thought about how and where you met the people you know? Think of your current group of friends. When you go out with your friends, are you actively looking to meet other people, or do you enjoy the company of those you already know? When you’re with your friends, it makes sense to hang only with your friends, but if there’s a chance that you might meet new people, you wouldn’t want to miss that. And what are friends for if not to be wing(wo)men? If you’re wondering how you can use a night out with friends to meet new people, here’s a few tips!
Have your friends invite mutual friends out
A friend of a friend is always a good place to start when meeting new people. After all, your friends know you and should have an idea of the people you would get along well with.
Go to social events that allow for conversation starters
Go to art shows, concerts at small venues, or any other events that relate to your interests. You’ll have a good time with friends and you’ll have a chance to meet others with the same interests as you.
Go to events for singles
Sometimes they’re embarrassing or total disasters, but you shouldn’t knock it until you try it! Even if your friends are not single or looking to meet anyone, you can still bring them along. If you don’t meet anyone interesting, at least you’ll have a memorable experience.
Get out of your comfort zone
Just walk up to someone and make conversation. The worst that can happen is they’re not as interesting to you or not as interested in you. If that’s the case, it’s not a loss!
