With Halloween just around the corner, everyone is hurrying to get last minute costumes or making last minute adjustments. It’s an exciting time of year, with fall bringing cooler temperatures, brightly colored leaves, and lots of excuses to celebrate. Halloween, of course, is one of the biggest holidays for college parties. While you’re wondering what to wear, your typical college costume party usually brings the same types of costumes each year. 1. The Popular Superhero (or Villain)

Whether it’s Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, or the Joker, you’re bound to see at least one or two of these costumes. They’re popular thanks to the insanely successful movies starring these characters, and who doesn’t want to be a superhero?

Another popular costume theme is animals, but the ladies take it up a notch in college by making their costumes sexy with lingerie, ears, and a tail. You know the plug and outlet costume? The man wears the plug and the woman wears the outlet? This is what I mean. Costumes that are humorous on an adult level. It seems as if Disney continues to grow in popularity with adults, so don’t be surprised if you see a few Jasmines or Cinderellas out. These are classic costumes that will be recognized by pretty much anyone, and your inner kid will love it. The non-participant is someone who’s either too lazy to wear a costume or waited too long to get one. These people usually find quirky ways to make their regular clothes into costumes. For example, someone with a white t-shirt and jeans can show up saying they’re dressed as Napoleon Dynamite, which may or may not be the actual case.
