Let's get real: trying to choose between that extra 30 minutes of sleep and looking your best can be one of the hardest decisions you have to make...especially if you're making it when your 6 a.m. alarm goes off and the snooze button is looking oh-so-lovely. Luckily, there are a few super simple hacks that can give you the best of both worlds!
1. The Night Before
One of the easiest ways to fast-track your morning is to simply shift when you're doing the work. Lay your outfit and accessories out the night before to make getting dressed in the morning a breeze.
2. Plan Ahead
The next level up to is to pre-plan all of your outfits. Instead of hanging and folding individual items, put your clothing away in pre-planned outfits that you know you love to wear. Then, in the morning, it's simply a matter of snagging the pairing that looks best at the time, and voila! This time-saving hack is extra nice because laundry day is the only day you're expending energy on your outfit choices, leaving both your mornings and evenings stress-free!
3. The Capsule Wardrobe
Of all the marvelous gifts minimalism has given us, capsule wardrobes are one of my favorites. Simply pick a color scheme you love and load up on basics, and you'll never have to worry about matching your outfit again because literally everything you own goes with everything else. This is a one-step process, and once you've created your wardrobe you never have to stress about outfits again, but the process involved can be grueling, as generally it involves a lot of bagging and tossing and more than a few quick shopping trips when you realize - gasp - you don't actually own a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans.
Each of these hacks is time-saving and gives you your extra beauty sleep in the morning, but they're all very different. For some people, having a basic wardrobe just doesn’t fly, and for others the idea of pre-planned outfits is just as stressful as planning them after hitting snooze 5 times.
