03.18.09 | Students to Schools: “Thanks, but no thanks”

Posted in College, scholarship points by David Bonvie

From Student Loan News, Updates and Blog Posts » Scholarship Points:

It is high school students, and not the schools, that are doing the rejecting these days. And not because they don’t want to go to school, but because they can not afford to. The economic downturn has student hopefuls putting the breaks on their education, at least at the pricey institutions.
The market volatility has forced [...]

From Student Loan News, Updates and Blog Posts » Scholarship Points:

The Pell Grants are set to receive a much needed face lift in the coming years, but at what cost?
All undergraduate students first became eligible for the Pell Grant in 1976-77. The maximum allotment at that time was $1,400, which covered 70% of the cost of tuition. For the 2009-2010 academic year the maximum allotment [...]

03.09.09 | The NEW ZoomPanel $500 Scholarship

Posted in scholarship points by Kristin Morris

zoom

Folks,

For all of you ScholarshipPoints veterans, you’ll remember the old monthly ZoomPanel scholarship.  The deal was, you joined ZoomPanel by signing up on a form, took a short survey, and voila – you were entered in an exclusive scholarship drawing.  Well, that was all well and good until people kept re-submitting their information over and over and over (if you recall, you could only enter ONCE).

So, in response to all the tweaking and chatter of the ZoomPanel program the last few months, we’ve decided to bring a scholarship back!!  To avoid any further confusion moving forward, here are the terms:

How to Enter

  • Fill out accurate information on the ZoomPanel form (you must be 18 or over to enter) – Click here!
  • Check your e-mail inbox – because within a minute or two, ZoomPanel will e-mail you a short welcome survey to fill out.
  • Complete this survey and you’re entered!

***Note you must complete the survey ZoomPanel e-mails you to be entered.

What you get

  • You are then entered to win an additional $500 scholarship every month
  • Your first 50 ZoomPanel points to use towards electronics, movies, music, and other cool stuff.

While we’re at it, we made another change for all of you that had a tough time signing up with ZoomPanel and getting your 5x login points.  Soon, every ScholarshipPoints member will get 5 points for their daily logins!  I’ve said it before, it pays to log in.

Additionally, if you’ve already joined ZoomPanel through us at any point, you’re automatically entered into the $500 scholarship.

That’s all for now.  To learn more about the ZoomPanel program, click here.

Before I forget, I still haven’t heard from the Student Platinum $2500 February winner.  The current winners listed on the winner’s page have until tomorrow, March 10th to get in touch with me to claim their prize.  Otherwise, NEW WINNERS WILL BE UP TOMORROW, 3/10 @ 4:00 PM.  Check back in to see if you’ve won!

03.05.09 | We have new winners!

Posted in scholarship points by admin

Just so we’re all clear, I HATE picking new winners.  I want everybody to be checking in on the drawing date for their name and I want every original member rightfully chosen as the winner to claim their prize!  Unfortunately people forget, get lazy, or whatever, and now we get all of this interesting drama!!  Looks like being an active Scholarship Points member really pays off, huh?

SO, with that, I’m letting you know that we have officially chosen NEW Scholarship Winners

I repeat, the only way to see if you’re a winner is to view the Winner’s Page HERE

  • And while we’re at it, if you’re name is NOT on the winner’s page at the drawing date, please don’t e-mail me telling me you’re a winner.  I won’t accidentally mail you a check for the scholarship.  This just clogs my inbox and makes me want to go Captain J on your you know what.
  • But if your name is on the winner’s list, for the love of all that is holy please e-mail me!  The directions on what to do are on the winner’s page.  It’s $2500 bucks we’re talking about here, sheesh!

And if none of these 3 winners contact me, I’m choosing new ones on March 10th.  Happy ScholarshipPointing!
